About Bethel Baptist Church

Bethel Baptist Church is a fundamental, independent Baptist Church located  just north of the Dallas Fort Worth airport.

Our facilities are located on a 4+ acre campus in the heart of the community of Grapevine,Texas and is easily accessable from anywhere in the DFW-Metroplex.

There are more than 15,000 independent Baptist churches in America and at least 10,000 independent Baptist missionaries serving on mission fields worldwide. Every independent Baptist church is an autonomous congregation. We are self-governing and self-supporting. The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. It is our desire to be a true New Testament church.

At Bethel Baptist Church we have one message - - the message of the Lord Jesus Christ; and one ministry - - the ministry He has given us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Our church emphasizes reaching out to others as well as a personal relationship with the Lord. Every individual is important to Christ, and so it is with us. We strive to be a help to others recognizing that people have both physical and spiritual needs. We are happy to help as our resources allow. We want you to know our Savior and experience the abundant life that His Word promises.

I will be attending a conference at the Gaylord Convention Center next weekend. Hoping to get away for Sunday PM church. Is 6 PM the correct time? Is the Google map correct that you are about 3 miles from the Convention Center? Do services last an hour or what time frame should I plan for a cab home? Thanks for your help with these questions. --Margaret Lloyd

It is good to see that Bethel is still standing for the Lord. I was saved and attended there until 1969 when my parents moved to AR to start a church in Nashville, AR. I remember that foremost I was taught about the Lord Jesus and his salvation. I surrendered to preach in 1972 and i thank God for the Biblical teaching i recieved during my years at Bethel.

We visited your church attending Sunday worship services today, 11 April, 2010. We were very happy and fulfilled with the pastor's sermon and the friendly people at the church. Many members shook our hands to make us feel welcome. We would like to come back, find out more about Sunday School and bible studies and we are strongly considering your church as our new church home. Thanks for making us feel welcome. Pastor Carrier, thanks to you and the Bethel family for your continued support. We noticed on our monthly BIMI statement that you have sent us additional support the last two months. Thank you in Jesus' name. Barbara is still having dizzy spells and we are returning to Montana so Barbara's condition can be assessed and she can be placed on the transplant list. Pray for us. Many decision are to be made that we will need God's leadership and wisdom about.

Kevin,

Thank you for taking the time to do some research for me.  It has been so exciting to find out this information.

My parents died when I was very young.  I had no idea that I had such a Godly heritage.

I am praying and asking God what I should do with this information.

blessings,
Debi

Thanks for visiting our church’s website and leaving a message in the Guestbook.  Bethel Baptist Church in Grapevine was organized in the 1950’s, so I’m sure that this is not the Bethel that Rev. Meyers started.  I did a quick search today during my lunch hour and found some info that may help you in your search.

There have been several historical towns and communities named Bethel in Texas , but don’t think that any of these are still around except perhaps the one in Hopkins County in East Texas .

There is, however, still a road between the towns of Grapevine and Coppell that’s named Bethel Road, and that could well have been associated with his church - - The City of Coppell’s website has a brief history of the area and photos of the Bethel Cemetery at http://www.ci.coppell.tx.us/about-coppell/history-of-coppell

There is a Lonesome Dove Baptist Church in Southlake, TX (just a few miles outside of Grapevine) that was reportedly founded in 1846 and is still active - - http://www.lonesomedovechurch.org/history

Here are a couple of interesting sites I found concerning your GGGGGGGF Rev. David Myers, including the historical marker for Union Baptist and a brief biography with photo of his gravesite in Keenan Cemetery in Farmer’s Branch, TX

Have a blessed day!

How old is Bethel Baptist Church? I just found out that my great-great-great-great Grandfather was Rev. David Myers who started the 1st Baptist Church-Union Babpist in Dallas county in 1845. The historical marker says that he also started Churches in Bethel, Rowlett Creek,Lonesome Dove and Liberty. Could this be the Bethel Church? Thank you so much. I look forward to hearing from you. Blessings, debi
